There are two categories of member:

• Poultry producers, who make a voluntary contribution of R5 per ton of poultry feed per month. KZNPI receives assistance from feed mills in the collection of these funds.
• Supply companies (feed, equipment, veterinary, pharmaceutical and related services) who pay an annual subscription (currently R1400).

 KZNPI maintains close contact with several related organisations including the Southern African Poultry Association (SAPA) and KWANALU

 Upon registration, members receive a Membership Certificate and Membership number.
